The pipeline will not be passing through standing rock
Monday December 5, 2016 The Army has decided the Dakota Access Pipeline will not pass
through North Dakota, by denying the final permit.
The longest protest in modern American history was due to The Standing Rock Sioux tribe not wanting a $3.8 billion dollar pipeline extending more than one thousand miles beneaht Lake Oahe. The tribe and others believe the pipeline would damage their water sources and disrupt sacred grounds.
Speaker of the House Paul Ryan was not happy with the Army Corp of Engineers decision. Ryan had the following to say on social media, “This is big-governement decision- making at it worst,” “I look forward to putting this anti-energy presidency behind us.”
The pipeline will be rerouted.
