November 30, 2016 Farad Polk who was accidentally locked in a Chicago's Cook County jail, has been awarded $600K for emotional trauma.

The unfortuante incident took place in July of 2014, after Polk was visiting his son.

Polk said he was simply following instructions, "to go down the hallway and turn to the right."  The right turn led him to a visting room for super-maximum security prisoners, which was not used on the weekend.  Once Polk entered the room, the doors locked behind him.

The fifty-one (51) year-old stated, his screams for help were not answered.

Polk was rescued by the fire department after damaging a sprinkler head.
